Students will work in teams to practice grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing skills from the Communicative English syllabus. Each group completes a unique activity that helps improve communication and teamwork in class.
Team 1: Exploring Tenses & Verb Forms
Each member collects 5 sentences from daily life in three tenses (past, present, future), explains the verb forms, and presents a group chart.
Team 2: Prefixes & Suffixes: Word Formation Hunt
Create a visual dictionary with 20 new words found via prefixes and suffixes. Define and illustrate each. Present as a wall poster or digital slides.
Team 3: Spelling and Punctuation Detectives
Edit a short story riddled with spelling and punctuation errors. Display before/after versions and discuss the impact of changes.
Team 4: One Word Substitution Challenge
Prepare 15 situations, then match them with precise one-word substitutions. Make example sentences for each and create a quiz for peers.
Team 5: Reading & Context Clues
Choose a passage (news, story, or textbook). Each member identifies unknown words and infers their meaning via context, then shares findings.
Team 6: Analytical Paragraph Writing
Given a pithy quote or current issue, collaboratively plan and write an analytical paragraph (120 words) with evidence and argument.
Team 7: Active & Passive Voice Transformations
Take common instructions or news headlines and rewrite them using both active and impersonal passive voice. Present in paired columns.
Team 8: Articles and Prepositions Maze
Design a worksheet with 15 sentences missing articles and prepositions. Fill them in, explain your choices, and peer-review with another team.
Team 9: Technical Vocabulary Builder & Compound Words
Choose a technical subject (sports, electronics, biology). List 10–15 words with definitions and find 10 compound words in context, using visuals if possible.
