Group Assignment 1 (Tesla & BYD)
CO Alignment & BLOOMS: CO1 REM Question: Explain the history and evolution of electric and hybrid vehicles. Discuss their social and environmental importance, highlighting key technological milestones that led to modern electric and hybrid vehicles. CO Alignment & BLOOMS : CO1 ANA Question: Analyze the impact of modern vehicle drive-trains on global energy supplies. Compare conventional internal combustion engine vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and electric vehicles in terms of energy consumption, efficiency, and emissions. CO Alignment & BLOOMS: CO1 ANA Question: Develop a mathematical model for vehicle performance considering tractive effort, rolling resistance, aerodynamic drag, and gradient resistance. Explain the significance of each parameter affecting vehicle performance. CO Alignment & BLOOMS: CO2 UND Question: Explain the basic concepts of hybrid and electric traction. Describe series, parallel, and series–parallel hybrid drive-train topologies with neat block diagrams and discuss power flow control in each topology. Unit: II – Hybrid and Electric Drive-Trains CO Alignment & BLOOMS: CO2 APP Question: A conventional passenger vehicle is proposed to be converted into a hybrid electric vehicle to improve fuel efficiency. Recommend a suitable hybrid drive-train topology and justify your choice. Explain the power flow during start-up, acceleration, cruising, and regenerative braking. Analyze the improvement in fuel efficiency and energy utilization compared to the conventional vehicle.
