BJT AND FET BIASING

Operating point, Bias stability, Fixed bias configuration, Collector-to- Base bias configuration, Voltage divider bias configuration, Bias compensation. Biasing the FET, Fixed Bias configuration, Self-Bias configuration, Voltage –divider bias configuration.

BJT AND FET AMPLIFIERS

Two port devices and network parameters (Z,Y,h parameters), Transistor Hybrid model, Analysis of transistor amplifier circuit using h-Parameters, Simplified CE hybrid model. Single stage amplifiers-Common Emitter amplifier, Common Collector amplifier, Common Base amplifier. Small signal analysis of CE amplifier with voltage divider bias, FET Amplifiers-Small signal analysis of CS amplifier with fixed bias. Multistage amplifiers-Cascade and Cascode amplifier , Darlington amplifier and its applications.

OSCILLATORS& WAVEFORM GENERATORS

Condition for oscillation, Hartley Oscillator, Colpitts Oscillator, RC Phase shift Oscillator, Wien Bridge oscillator, Crystal oscillator. Wave shaping circuits, Multivibrators-Astable multivibrator, Monostable multivibrator and Bistable multivibrator.

POWER AMPLIFIERS AND APPICATIONS

Difference between Voltage amplifier and Power amplifiers, Classification of Power amplifiers, Class A amplifiers, Class B amplifiers, Class AB amplifiers, Class C and D amplifiers. Applications of Power amplifiers, Audio amplifiers, RF applications.
